If you are very fond of animals and have an inclination to be a part of an animal-oriented organisation, why not apply and join the Animal Medical Centre. We have an ongoing vacancy to fill up as we expand to better serve our valued clients.
The Animal Medical Centre employs a globally diverse team of fully qualified veterinarians from countries like the UK, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia! Each veterinarian is registered with the Hong Kong Veterinary Surgeons Board prior to joining. We have a varied caseload of medical and surgical cases ranging from spays, castrations and vomiting/diarrhoea to CKD, GDV and tick fever. Veterinarian work is very rewarding and at times challenging. Our caseload provides vets with enough cases to challenge themselves while also having the support and experience of the team around if needed. Over the last several decades we have developed a reputation among our clients for providing thorough and definitive treatment options at a fair price. We have a 24hr clinic in Mong Kok and are looking to convert our Mid Levels clinic to 24hrs soon. This will ensure vets can gain some emergency experience to increase their knowledge and add to their growing skillsets.
Vets work 9 days every two weeks, which works out as two four day weeks and two 5 day weeks each month. In HK, weekends don’t mean as much as in western countries so the majority of the population work some weekends and have days off in the week. In fitting in with this, vets will work some weekends and then have some days off in the week. HK is a busy city so most vets prefer their days off in the week so they can explore without as many people around!
Around every 8 weeks, vets will get to complete 7 days of nights, seeing a variety of routine and emergency consults, followed by 7 days off to recuperate. This is a great way to improve your emergency skills. There’s no other night work during normal weeks, as work life balance is high on our priorities to provide.
We also provide a training program for new graduates. It consists of 3 months of training with weekly dedicated training sessions and shadowing of clinic duties. New graduates can progress at their own pace and the team is accommodating and happy to teach and help get you up to speed. For new graduates, night shifts won’t start until at least 6 months in.
If you believe that you have the necessary skills, including a sense of humour and can contribute to our team, then feel free to submit your cover letter and CV to us. For application, please contact hr@amcvet.com.hk.

We offer a better than average pay scale and time off as well as a bonus that is paid monthly! Also being the largest veterinary group in Hong Kong allows us to provide a greater level of support and guidance to those veterinarians who are relatively new to working in Hong Kong.
