Martin graduated in Parma, Italy in 1994, his doctoral thesis was on ‘Laser-acupuncture in horses’.
His interest in other parts of the world led him to Veterinaires sans Frontieres. With this non-governmental organization he worked on a rural development project in Cambodia.

After getting married, Martin spent one year in the UK, working in Wales and with the RSPCA in London. In 1997 he returned to Asia and started work in Hong Kong.

In 2002 Martin completed a two year course in veterinary acupuncture with the IVAA (International Veterinary Acupuncture Association) in Australia. The same year he moved back to Europe to work in France and Germany for 2 years.

In 2004 Martin returned to Hong Kong working for the AMC in Ma On Shan, where his sons went to school.

Over the last 15 years Martin has treated numerous dogs and cats with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

His time off is spent with family and friends, hiking and photography on good days, books and music on rainy ones.
